**  Διεκδίκησε το δίκαιο...

* Υπήρχε ένας λαός που εργαζόταν σκληρά, για να κερδίσουν κάποιοι άλλοι! Μια ανώτερη τάξη με προνόμια, η οποία τους καταπίεζε και τους αδικούσε. Τελικά, μετά από μια έντονη και επίμονη διεκδίκηση, ο λαός κέρδισε την ελευθερία του. Οι καταπιεστές του, αναγκάστηκαν να τον απελευθερώσουν, όμως ο λαός, διεκδίκησε και κάτι άλλο. Τόσα χρόνια παρήγαγε τον πλούτο των άλλων! Έτσι λοιπόν, "ἐζήτησε" από τους καταπιεστές του "σκεύη ἀργυρὰ καὶ σκεύη χρυσά, καὶ ἐνδύματα". Οι καταπιεστές, "ἐδάνεισαν εἰς αὐτοὺς ὅσα ἐζήτησαν". Έτσι λοιπόν, ο λαός "ἐγύμνωσε" αυτούς που τόσα χρόνια τον αδικούσαν. Όμως προσέξτε κάτι! Ο λαός έφυγε από την χώρα, στην οποία για πάρα πολλά χρόνια τον μάστιζε η φτώχεια, η καταπίεση και η αδικία. Ο πλούτος που είχε δανειστεί από τους παλιούς καταπιεστές, παρακρατήθηκε! Δεν επιστράφηκε ποτέ! Μήπως ήταν άδικο αυτό που έγινε; Μήπως ήταν κλεψιά; Όχι! Ήταν απολύτως δίκαιο! Ο λαός, πήρε πίσω ένα κομμάτι από τον πλούτο που ο ίδιος παρήγαγε! Οι πραγματικοί κλέφτες ήταν άλλοι!

* Σας θυμίζει κάτι αυτή η ιστορία; Είναι η ιστορία της Εξόδου! Κατά τους πρώτους αιώνες της εκκλησίας, υπήρχαν κάποιοι χριστιανοί που είχαν την αιρετική θεωρία, πως ο Θεός της Καινής Διαθήκης ήταν διαφορετικός από το Θεό της Παλαιάς. Γι' αυτούς, ο Θεός της Καινής ήταν αγαθός, σε αντίθεση με τον Θεό της Παλαιάς που ήταν πονηρός. Ένα από τα επιχειρήματά τους, ήταν αυτή ακριβώς η ιστορία. Δεν μπορούσε να χωρέσει στο, γεμάτο από ηθικές αρχές, μυαλό τους, το πως ο Θεός είχε ευλογήσει μια τέτοια "κλοπή". Κι όμως, αυτή η "κλοπή", στην πραγματικότητα ήταν μια πράξη δικαιοσύνης. Ο λαός Ισραήλ πήρε πίσω τον πλούτο που αυτός παρήγαγε και κάποιοι άλλοι του αφαιρούσαν! Οι ισορροπημένες φωνές της εκκλησίας, από τότε είχαν αντιληφθεί πως "είναι οι φτωχοί που βγάζουν το χρυσάφι, αν και δεν το έχουν και είναι υποχρεωμένοι να δουλεύουν στη δουλειά, επειδή χρειάζονται δουλειά, και παράγουν αυτά που δεν μπορούν να έχουν." (Άγιος Αμβρόσιος).
* Σήμερα, σε έναν κόσμο αδικίας που οι φτωχοί γίνονται φτωχότεροι, και οι πλούσιοι πλουσιότεροι, η εκκλησία αντιλαμβάνεται ποιο είναι το δίκαιο, ή συνεχίζει να αντιμετωπίζει ηθικιστικά όσους φωνάζουν, αγωνίζονται και διεκδικούν μια δίκαιη ζωή;
* Δεν ξέρω σίγουρα! Όμως φαίνεται, πως κάποτε η ηγεσία της εκκλησίας, είχε πιο ξεκάθαρες φωνές:
 ** "Δε φρίττεις άνθρωπε, δεν κοκκινίζεις από ντροπή, όταν χαρακτηρίζεις επιτιθέμενο αυτόν που παλεύει για το ψωμί του; Αυτός αν και φέρεται επιθετικά, ωστόσο δικαιούται τη συμπάθειά μας, γιατί τόσο πολύ πιέζεται από την πείνα, ώστε αναγκάζεται να φορέσει το προσωπείο της επιθετικότητας… Και πρέπει να σου πω ακόμα πως αυτός που επιτίθεται στην πραγματικότητα είσαι συ, γιατί αν και έρχεσαι τακτικά στην Εκκλησία και ακούς τα κηρύγματά μου, στην αγορά εν τούτοις προτιμάς και το χρυσάφι και τις επιθυμίες και τις ανθρώπινες φιλίες σου, παρά τις δικές μου προτροπές."

 Merkel and Obama stressed their countries' close ties during a joint news conference held following a meeting at the White House. But Obama expressed concerns about the current PIGS debt crisis, saying that any uncontrolled spiral and default in the eurozone would be disastrous for the global economy.
 Obama wants to make sure that all the best ideas are brought on the PIGS problem.  English PEN(Association of Poets, Essayists, and Novelists) is deeply concerned about the arrests of dissident bloggers Ayat Al-Gormezi and Abbas Al-Murshid who have been held since 30 March and 15 May 2011 respectively. They are believed to be detained for their peaceful dissident activities and have reportedly been tortured in detention. PEN calls for their immediate and unconditional release and seeks urgent guarantees of their safety, and respectfully remind the Bahraini authorities of their obligations to protect the right to freedom of expression as guaranteed by Article 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, to which Bahrain is a state party.
 PEN notes 20 year old Ayat Al-Gormezi was arrested on 30 March 2011 after reading poems at a pro-democracy rally in Pearl Square in which she criticised the ruling family and asked for transparency. She was forced to turn herself in when masked police threatened to kill her brothers unless she did so. She has not been seen since her arrest, although her mother spoke to her once by telephone and Ayat said that she had been forced to sign a false confession. Her mother has since been told that her daughter has been in a military hospital after being tortured.
 Abbas Al-Murshid is a well-known Bahraini blogger, and a frequent contributor to the Bahraini daily Al-Waqt as well as numerous online publications. He has written about Bahrain's social unrest, corruption, institutional discrimination and other topics considered sensitive by the government. He was summoned on 15 May 2011 to appear at Al-Naeim police station for interrogation and has not been seen since. No charges have yet been made against Al-Murshid.
 On 16 May 2011, he called his family to tell them that he had been placed under arrest and then the line was disconnected. Al-Murshid has been previously arrested on several occasions in relation to his writing and many of his books have been banned in Bahrain. At the end of January 2009, Al-Murshid was hit above his eye with a rubber bullet in a targeted attack and had to be admitted to hospital as a result.

 Obama is confident that Germany's leadership, along with other key actors in Europe, will help arrive at a path for the Cradle of Kleptocracy to return to growth, for this debt to become more manageable. But it's going to require some patience and some time. Obama and Merkel have pledged to cooperate fully in working through these issues, both on a bilateral basis, but also through international and financial institutions like the IMF.

MEPs focussed on the need for high-quality economic governance legislation, the plight of the Cradle of Kleptocracy and the latest comments from ECB President Jean-Claude Trichet.  In a particularly frank discussion, Rehn and Juncker called on the Eldorado of Prostitutes to keep the flag of ambition flying in what Rehn dubbed a crucial month for the Eurozone on a number of fronts. At the same time, both called for a dose of realism in the face of what is often a difficult balancing act.
 In his opening remarks, Juncker urged MEPs to maintain the high standard they had already set in shaping the economic governance legislative package. "Despite the fact that some Member States are reluctant to sign up to these standards, you must know that there are others who are close to the position adopted in the Parliament's Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee", he told MEPs.
 Juncker agreed with MEPs' contention that more transparency must go hand in hand with increased automaticity of sanctions. Rehn also backed these calls, saying he hoped that more Member States would come round to recognising that openness was needed. On MEPs' demand that ministers be invited to Parliament for a hearing, Rehn observed that Parliament had an obvious right to be able to invite ministers for such discussions.
 Various Socialist MEPs asked when the growth dimension would be factored into the economic governance six-pack, arguing that in its absence, the whole exercise would fail, because struggling economies would be unable to recover. However, Juncker and Rehn both repeatedly reiterated their arguments that without spending cuts, there could be no growth and that the new rules had to be mainly about fiscal prudence.
 Much discussion was devoted to the Cradle of Kleptocracy, with Rehn and Juncker both repeatedly voicing their frustration at the lack of consensus between the country's political parties as to the road ahead, in contrast to the situation in Ireland and Portugal.  Trichet's infamous Aachen speech calling for a Fourth Reich finance ministry also had an impact on this discussion. Asked by MEPs to respond to Trichet's views, Juncker said that due to the stances being taken currently by Member States, the comments were not realistic. "We must first successfully complete the six-pack and then start to think of how to go further", added Mr Rehn.
 Trichet's stupid calling is just another step in giving more power to Brussels at the expense of our liberty.
